Ice House Museum
The Silsbee Ice House, erected in 1928, provided ice to citizens and trains that traveled through Silsbee. At its peak, the Silsbee Ice House produced 30,000 tons of ice a week. In 1983 the Silsbee Ice House closed and remained unused until 1990. The Silsbee Ice House reopened in 1990, and received Silsbee’s only historical designation from the Texas Historical Commission. The museum began exhibiting work on a monthly basis. A big boost came to the Ice House Museum when the Silsbee Economic Development Corporation dedicated $60,000 to renovate the museum. Today, in addition to the monthly exhibit and reception held on the second Sunday of each month, you will find historical information on Silsbee including prehistoric rhinoceros bones that was found nearby, classes for adults and children, summer art camps, and meeting room space.
  Silsbee City Hall
The seat of the local government lies on the outskirts of downtown.
